Starting the Week with God

Restraint.
I was listening to Beth Moore again and I'm still listening to her study on Daniel. And I'm STILL listening to her study of Daniel chapter ONE. Yes, I'm really that slow. But I finished it tonight.
Anyways, she talked briefly about the restraint that Daniel showed in only eating "vegetables" (which includes "that which was grown from the sewn seed). She references to the text, Proverbs 6:12,
" 'Everything is permissible for me' --but not everything is beneficial."
I was also reading an article tonight that talked about the same thing. It talked about how "meekness isnt weakness". Which is where I got my current memory verse on the side over there. This article referenced Isaiah 53:7,
"He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth."
and also Matthew 21:12,
"Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves."
And then the writer stated that Jesus, was "always read to defend His faith, yet never defending Himself." That's meekness. Strength that is controlled.
